Consumer Protection Code – How the updated code puts customers first.

Michael Byrne, CEO of Core Credit Union, spoke with Declan Meehan on the East Coast FM Breakfast Show about how the updated Consumer Protection Code places customers’ interests ahead of those of banks. Financial institutions will now be required to prioritise customers’ needs in their services and decisions.

The new regulations also introduce stronger protections for vulnerable customers, particularly those experiencing significant life events. They set out additional requirements and responsibilities for financial institutions when engaging with and supporting their customers.
